Bio
Fred, born Frédérique Beaulieu (which, if you tried to pronounce it while reading it, explains why everyone just calls her Fred), is a singer and entertainer from Quebec City, Canada, now based in Nashville, TN.
From a very young age, she knew she wanted to be a singer. Her first "show" was at the age of 3, in front of the fireplace at home singing a medley of her favorite Christmas songs. It was so good, her grandma talked about it for years (she might've been a little biased). At the age of 5, her mom who loved the behind-the-scenes aspect of shows and music decided to put together a family show with Fred, her sister and their cousins during the summer. It started a yearly tradition that had a big impact on Fred and her love for everything that goes on behind the scenes and on stage.
Realizing how passionate she was about singing, her parents got her singing lessons at the age of 9 and gifted her on her 10th birthday with a chance to record her very first CD, on which she covered five of her favorite songs at the time, including Part of Your World form her favorite Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. She then recorded again at the age of 12, recording her very first original song among other cover songs. She was hooked. She continued her singing lessons all through high school and started taking guitar lessons as well to add to her skills set.
Although always supportive, her parents insisted she goes to college before pursuing anything music related. That’s how she ended up studying pop and jazz music in college. Not a fan of jazz, she still acquired skills that would help her later on in her career and persevered through it all.
Knowing early on her ambitions were bigger than what the Quebec music scene had to offer and with her newly discovered love for country music, Fred started working on a plan to move to Nashville, TN, also known as Music City. She made the move in November 2017 and started performing on Broadway right away. Since then, she's been able to make a living doing what she loves most, perfroming.
She released her debut single, Granddaddy, on November 5th 2021, four years almost to the day after her big move to Nashville.
She is now a regular on Broadway, performing weekly at different venues down the strip. Make sure you catch her live on your next Nashville trip and request your favorite songs for her to sing!
